Let’s start with an introduction. Can you tell us a bit about yourself, your role as Team Lead for Employee Support Systems, and your journey over the past 4 years?
I have over 10 years of IT experience, having worked across multiple organizations in IT infrastructure, systems administration, and employee support. I enjoy solving technology challenges, improving IT operations, and mentoring my team.
I joined Alegeus four years ago as a Senior IT Support Engineer. Early on, I had the opportunity to contribute to several key initiatives that supported the company’s growth and helped strengthen the technology experience for employees. Those experiences allowed me to build strong relationships across the organization while developing a deeper understanding of the business.
Over the years, I grew into the role of Team Lead for Employee Support Systems, where I lead a talented team while remaining hands-on with technology. Looking back, it’s been incredibly rewarding to grow alongside Alegeus, take on new challenges, and contribute to building an IT environment that supports employees around the world.
What does a typical day look like for you leading Employee Support Systems, and what aspects of your role do you find most rewarding?
My day usually starts by connecting with my team to review priorities, discuss ongoing projects, and ensure any urgent issues are addressed. From there, I balance day-to-day support responsibilities with initiatives focused on improving the employee experience and enhancing the way we work.
A big part of my role also involves collaborating with teams across different regions to ensure our employees have the tools and support they need to be productive. I enjoy mentoring my team, helping them solve complex technical challenges, and encouraging them to grow professionally. Seeing them develop new skills and take ownership of their work is incredibly rewarding.
What I find most fulfilling is knowing that the work we do directly impacts employees across the organization. Whether it’s resolving an issue that helps someone get back to work quickly or implementing a new solution that improves efficiency, it’s satisfying to know our team plays a key role in enabling everyone to do their best work.
As a Bangalore-based employee, how do you collaborate with global teams, and what’s been key to building strong connections across regions?
Being based in Bangalore has never limited my ability to collaborate with our global teams. I work closely with colleagues in the U.S. on a daily basis, whether it’s planning IT initiatives, resolving complex technical issues, or ensuring employees have a seamless technology experience. While working across time zones requires flexibility, open communication and mutual trust have made collaboration very effective.
For me, the key to building strong connections is being responsive, taking ownership, and communicating proactively. When people know they can rely on you, distance and time zones become much less of a barrier. That’s one of the things I value most about Alegeus. We truly operate as one global team, supporting one another and working toward common objectives.
You’ve been actively involved in several initiatives, including Sportify, the Bangalore Great Place to Work Committee, and supporting the transition to establish Alegeus’s independent entity in India. How have these experiences shaped your perspective on employee engagement and representing the voice of employees?
Being involved in initiatives like Sportify, the Bangalore Great Place to Work committee, and the Vikasa transition (VEE) has shown me that employee engagement goes far beyond day-to-day work. It’s about creating an environment where people feel connected, heard, and supported.
As a key member of the Sportify Committee, I helped organize sports activities and annual competitions such as cricket, badminton, football, chess, carrom, and foosball. I was involved in planning events, coordinating logistics, and making decisions on how we could encourage greater employee participation. Seeing colleagues from different teams come together, compete, and enjoy themselves reinforced how important these activities are in building relationships and strengthening our workplace culture.
Through the Great Place to Work Committee, I engaged with employees to raise awareness about the importance of the survey and encouraged everyone to share their feedback. I contributed ideas during committee discussions, supported communication through our IT channels, and provided technical assistance whenever needed. It was rewarding to help ensure every employee had the opportunity to have their voice heard.
I also had the opportunity to help support employees during a significant period of organizational growth and change. By helping answer questions, sharing updates, and providing support throughout the process, I saw firsthand how important communication, transparency, and employee-focused leadership are during times of transition.
Together, these experiences have taught me that employee engagement is about listening, collaborating, and creating an environment where people feel valued and connected.
What has kept you motivated and engaged over your 4 years with the company, and how have you seen the culture evolve during that time?
What has kept me motivated over the past four years is the opportunity to continuously learn, take on new challenges, and make a meaningful impact. Every year has brought new opportunities to grow, from building our IT infrastructure and leading major migrations to mentoring my team and driving initiatives that improve the employee experience. Knowing that my work directly supports employees around the world has made the journey incredibly rewarding.
A big part of that motivation comes from the leaders and teammates I’ve had the privilege to work with. Their trust, guidance, and encouragement have helped shape my professional growth. They empowered me to take ownership of critical projects, challenged me to think beyond day-to-day operations, and gave me the confidence to grow into a leadership role. I’m also thankful for my teammate Yashas Kumar, whose collaboration and support have made even the most challenging projects enjoyable and successful.
I’ve also seen the Alegeus culture evolve in a very positive way. As the company has grown, collaboration across global teams has become even stronger while maintaining an open and supportive environment. What stands out to me is that everyone’s ideas are valued, people are always willing to help one another, and there’s a genuine focus on learning and continuous improvement. That culture, combined with the trust I’ve received, is what continues to inspire me every day.
You’re known for referring strong talent that not only joins but thrives here. What do you look for when recommending candidates, and what makes someone a great fit for our teams and culture?
When referring candidates, I look beyond technical skills. While having the right technical foundation is important, I believe attitude, willingness to learn, and collaboration are what truly make someone successful at Alegeus.
I look for people who take ownership of their work, communicate openly, adapt to change, and enjoy working as part of a team. Throughout my time at Alegeus, I’ve seen that our culture values collaboration, continuous learning, and supporting one another. Those qualities often make a bigger difference than technical expertise alone.
One of the reasons I enjoy referring candidates is because I genuinely believe Alegeus is a great place to build a career. When I recommend someone, I think about whether they will not only perform well in the role but also contribute positively to the team and thrive within our culture. Seeing people I’ve referred grow professionally and become valuable members of the organization has been incredibly rewarding.
Switching gears, what do you enjoy doing outside of work to relax and recharge? Any hobbies or interests you’d like to share?
Outside of work, my favorite way to relax is spending quality time with my family, especially my two-year-old daughter. Watching her learn, play, and discover new things every day is incredibly rewarding, and those moments help me recharge and maintain a healthy work-life balance.
I’m also a big fan of cricket and movies, and I enjoy traveling whenever I get the chance. Exploring new places and experiencing different cultures is something I always look forward to. I also enjoy cooking, which gives me a chance to unwind and try something creative outside of work.
Learning is another passion of mine. I enjoy reading books and staying up to date with emerging technologies, especially in AI and modern workplace solutions. I believe continuous learning is essential, both personally and professionally, and it keeps me curious, motivated, and excited about what’s next.
