Data Scientist

#TeamAlegeus would love to get to know you! Tell us a bit about yourself and your journey to becoming a Data Scientist at Alegeus.

I joined Alegeus about five years ago in Application Support, where I worked closely with production systems, troubleshooting issues, analyzing data, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure our applications ran smoothly. That experience gave me a deep understanding of our products, our business, and the impact our work has on customers. I’ve always enjoyed solving problems and figuring out how things work, so it was a great place to start my career at Alegeus.

As I became more experienced in my role and got involved with Know-al-edge, an innovation-focused team at Alegeus, I became increasingly interested in using technology to solve problems in new ways. I was especially drawn to the power of data, not just to understand what happened, but to predict outcomes, automate processes, and improve decision-making.

Whether it was automating repetitive tasks, improving log analysis, or exploring AI-driven solutions, I enjoyed finding smarter and more efficient ways to work. Over time, that passion and continuous learning helped me transition into Data Science, where I can combine my operational knowledge with data and AI to build solutions that help teams make better decisions and drive meaningful business outcomes.

Looking back, it’s been an incredible journey. I believe my growth has been driven by a continuous desire to learn, the opportunity to work on meaningful challenges, and the support of my managers, mentors, and teammates along the way. More than anything, I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve had at Alegeus and excited to keep building on this journey in the years ahead.

As part of the AI team, what excites you most about the work you’re doing today, and how do you see AI making an impact at Alegeus?

What excites me most is the opportunity to solve real business problems using AI. Every day presents a new challenge, and it’s rewarding to think about how data and AI can simplify complex processes, improve decision-making, and ultimately create a better experience. One of the things I enjoy most about being part of the AI & Data Science team is the opportunity to experiment, learn, and turn ideas into practical solutions. I believe AI has the potential to make a meaningful impact at Alegeus by helping us work smarter, not harder.

You recently participated in a hackathon and took home the prize — congratulations! Can you share more about that experience and what made your project stand out?

Thank you! The hackathons were some of the most exciting experiences I’ve had at Alegeus because they gave us the freedom to think creatively, experiment with new technologies, and solve real business challenges in a short amount of time.

I had the opportunity to participate in the AI hackathons in both 2024 and 2025, and each experience taught me something new. In 2024, our team developed an AI-powered solution that analyzed historical participant data to generate meaningful insights and provide personalized nudges around healthcare spending and healthier choices. The idea was to help participants make more informed decisions by using data in a proactive and engaging way.

Building on that experience, we returned in 2025 with a different challenge. Our project focused on using AI to simplify the design process by enabling users to create website designs through natural language prompts.

I’m incredibly proud that our projects were recognized with the Overall Best Project award in 2024 and the Best Idea award in 2025. More than the awards themselves, what made these experiences memorable was collaborating with talented teammates, learning from one another, and turning innovative ideas into working solutions within a very short timeframe.

You’re also an active member of our Bangalore ERG Know-al-Edge. What does being part of this community mean to you, and how has it influenced your experience at Alegeus?

Being part of the Bangalore Know-al-Edge community has been one of the most meaningful aspects of my journey at Alegeus. To me, it’s much more than an employee resource group, it’s a community that encourages passion, curiosity, innovation, and continuous learning.

Through Know-al-Edge, I was exposed to new technologies, AI trends, technical discussions, and innovation initiatives that challenged me to think beyond my day-to-day responsibilities. It inspired me to explore areas like AI, machine learning, and data science, and gave me the confidence to experiment with new ideas and apply them to real business problems. Looking back, it played an important role in shaping my career transition into Data Science.

Let’s end on a fun note! What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you outside of work, or a hobby you’re currently enjoying?

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time on activities that help me recharge and stay curious. I love reading books, going on long bike road trips, and playing badminton. Music is also a big part of my life there’s always something playing, whether I’m working, traveling, or simply unwinding.

One thing people might be surprised to learn is how much I enjoy skygazing/stargazing. I can sit for hours just looking up at the night sky, watching the stars and simply enjoying the moment. It’s one of the few things that helps me completely disconnect from the fast pace of everyday life and gives me time to reflect.
