At Alegeus, we are intentional about cultivating a diverse and inclusive culture. We’re committed to evolving as a company and a corporate family, and to listening to traditionally marginalized voices. In this endeavor, we prioritize the following:
Inclusive Innovation Curriculum and Certification
As part of our Managers Training Program, we’ve developed ongoing initiatives and training around diversity and inclusion, including an embedded D&I curriculum to cultivate an innovative and inclusive business culture. Managers can earn badges for completing each level of this curriculum. In addition, we’ll soon implement an annual recertification for managers.
This curriculum is structured in four levels:
Level 1 – Bronze (mandatory for all managers)
1.5 hours, with courses covering unconscious bias, leading a diverse workforce, multiculturalism and the law, and more.
Level 2 – Silver
75 minutes of courses covering the American Disabilities Act, transgender protections, valuing diversity and more.
Level 3 – Gold
Courses built from select Ted Talks that focus on diversity and inclusion (must watch 5 Ted Talks)
Level 4 – Platinum
Courses built from select Ted Talks that focus on diversity and inclusion (must watch 10 Ted Talks)
Supplier Diversity Program
Alegeus is honored to support small and growing businesses through vendor and supplier relationships. Our Supplier Diversity Program includes recording and reporting on diversity of spend, as well as verification/certification of businesses through third-party agencies. Benefits include:
Social and economic responsibility (contributing positively to a more equitable world) as well as economic (uplifting our local communities and economies)
Inclusive supply chains represent a competitive advantage – increased supplier diversity has been correlated with increased market share.
According to Hackett Group, companies that allocate 20% or more of their spend to diverse suppliers attribute 10-15% of annual sales to those suppliers.
We believe that Black Lives Matter
Alegeus continues the conversation on Black Lives Matter, even when the cameras aren’t rolling and social pressure has faded. We’ve held internal panel discussions on important topics around race, and donated to funds to the following organizations: Campaign Zero, Color of Change and Equal Justice Initiative.
