Mark Waterstraat is the Chief Customer Officer for Alegeus. In his role, Mark is responsible for an integrated product strategy that infuses the voice of the customer into the Alegeus product roadmap and experience. Previously, Mark served as President, Consumer Solutions, where he was responsible for building high-impact initiatives, such as an integrated COBRA solution. Mark brings over 20 years of experience, specializing in driving disruptive new technologies and services into the healthcare and financial services markets. His background makes him perfectly suited to help Alegeus transform the consumer healthcare funding experience – helping consumers and employers maximize their savings. Previously, Waterstraat has served in executive leadership positions at prominent healthcare and fintech solution companies – responsible for corporate strategy, growth, product management and corporate development. He was a co-founder and senior leader of Benaissance, a leading SaaS platform for premium billing and COBRA administration. He also served as SVP Strategy and Product at RevSpring, and as an advisor and consultant to health and fintech private equity firms.
Mark is a sought-after speaker and industry expert, frequently addressing national leaders and industry organizations as an advocate for consumers working to make healthcare more accessible and affordable. Mark resides in Chicago with his family and serves on the Parent Philanthropy Committee for the University of Chicago Laboratory Schools. He received his BA with concentration in American Government from Dartmouth College.
